Baptism

Nina was baptized on Sunday. She enjoyed all the loving supportive people around her all day. She wore the dress Auntie Belle made for my baptism 28 years ago!

Pooped out

23 weeks

Nina was 23 weeks last Friday. I have really cherished about 15 of those nursing Nina. The first 5 weeks were a challenge - both of us learning. Now she is a real pro! Before I even sit down to feed her she is sucking on my neck and shoulder. As soon as I lay her on her side she opens her mouth as wide as she can. Then she smacks her lips when she is done - not even kidding! It is so cute!

Nina has decided she prefers to sleep on her stomach. Hmmm..I wonder who she gets that from!

Noise

Creaking floors and squeaky doors ( I swear I never noticed how much our house creaks until now!)
Turning phone/computer on and off
Turning car on and opening car door
Just about everything has an extra beep or buzzer!
What is the purpose of the excessive noises in our everyday life?
NOTHING! There is no purpose! Yes, I know I turned my phone/car on - that was my intention! I don't need a loud signal telling me what I did!
And these unwanted noises become really annoying when you are trying to keep your sleeping baby sleeping!

5 months

Nina was 5 months old on the 11th ( 22 weeks tomorrow). She is not talking as much because her hands are always in her mouth! She loves her feet - her flexibility amazes me! She also really likes patty-cake already.

21 weeks

Nina discovered her toes this week. She smiles the biggest when she sees herself in the mirror. She has always and still prefers to be held standing up - she gets fussy when you sit down. The last 2 nights she has slept from 7:30pm-5am, eats, then sleeps until 10am - awesome!

Nina was playing so hard she wore herself out! She fell asleep while playing on the floor. She was moving so much her sock fell off, her pants fell down, and she lifts her jacket up to chew on it!

Mother's Day

Everyone says becoming a mother will make you appreciate your own mother more. I couldn't agree more. You have no idea how much your mom sacrificed for you until you go through it yourself. Then you find yourself looking back on your entire life a little differently. My mom not only put me first for 28 years, she has done the same for 2 more kids! Moms just never run out of love. My mom has been nothing but supportive my whole life and especially since I have had Nina. She always listens and never imposes her opinions on how I am parenting, even though she is the experienced one! She is the one I call to vent, brag, worry, complain, cry, laugh, babytalk...she gets me home in bad traffic after a long day! Nina is so lucky to have such a loving grandma. We love you!

I had the most relaxing day today. Nina gave me the best gift by sleeping in until 10am! We had an amazing brunch on our screen porch and took a long walk (nap for Nina) to enjoy the weather. And I even got a present - Chad gave me a Mother-of-pearl necklace! I am really blessed to be Nina's mom - she is such a good baby!

20 weeks

Nina was 20 weeks old on Friday. Here are some pictures of her having fun at daycare:

Nina can roll from front to back and back to front. She giggles when I kiss her cheeks. She is easily distracted when eating and looks up and smiles at me until I smile back. She has a lot to say and her talking is long sounds that almost sound like singing. She is not as interested in her pacifier anymore but loves sucking on her hands.
